A few fun forgeries

My love for old and modern masters is well documented. What is less well know is that I often do copies for myself just for fun. I had a lovely time painting these cushion covers just to brighten up the front of the gallery. I have had enquiries from clients to purchase them but they are really just for me. They actually take a few days to do so would never be cost effective for retailing them. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

The first cushion was Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night and I have included my current reading "The Art Forger" in keeping with my fakes and forgery theme.

Another Vincent. This one a bit of a mash-up of several of his Sunflower paintings. I have just used acrylic paint straight onto the cushion cover.

Considering that my main purpose was bright colour to appeal to passers-by, I painted Picasso's Girl in a Mirror next. I have taken a few liberties with it.

Here are all three placed on my new black cane setting and below the final shot of outside the gallery with all three chairs and cushions on the front deck on Latrobe Terrace Paddington at the gallery entrance.

Hope you enjoy them as much as I did making them!

Pop in sometime. Open Fridays and Saturdays.
